Description:
#1170, FN Mauser Custom 300 Winchester Magnum that most likely was stocked in Paul Jaeger's shop in 1964 or 1965, 26" barrel by Atkinson & Marquette from Arizona, Clean barrel without open sights, Sako adjustable trigger, Sliding safety on the right side that locks the bolt, FN hinged floorplate with a frontal bow release, Jeweled bolt, Buehler 1 piece scope base with 1" rings, A custom stock that has all the trappings of being stocked by Jaeger plus the owner remembers his brother talking to Jaeger about doing the work, Nice wood, Complete wrap around point pattern checkering, Monte carlo comb, Shadowline cheekpiece, Rosewood forend tip, A fully engraved steel grip cap with oak leaves which looks all Jaeger to me, Sling eyes on the stock, 13 1/2" LOP over a true mid-1960's Pachmayr pad marked "Presentation", 8 lbs. 12 oz., The bore is as new, The original blue remains at 98%, The original stock finish at 97-98%, The checkering is at 100%, The inletting is well done. When done most likely the metal work was completed in Arizona and then sent to Jenkintown, Pa. for the stock. The owner is almost certain based on his recall of what took place relative his brother ordering the gun. I am most certain it is a Jaeger stock.
