Description:
A nice Plains Percussion Rifle, also called a "Fowling Piece". Maker unknown but this rifle was well made. It has a full stock. There are a few dings and splits which do not detract from the nice overall appearance. The wood has a nice tiger maple style grain which could probably be enhanced with some cleaning. The butt plate and trigger guard are brass. The guard is nicely engraved. There is also some engraving on the lock and hammer. The action of the lock is good. There is a full length ramrod. There are front and rear sights. The overall length is about 60 inches. The metal is mostly dark as might be expected due to age. PRICE REDUCED
