Description:
Sommerda, Germany. Absolutely beautiful little pre-WWII double rifle in caliber 6.5x58R. Weight: Only 6 Lbs. Stock Dimensions: 14" LOP. Superb 25" steel barrels with brilliant, mint, bores retain 100% of the original black finish. Best quality action, with bushed firing pins and two single-set triggers, retains all the original hardening color. Unusual action in that pushing forward on the curved finger rest below the trigger guard allows the barrels to drop and cartridges to extract. When the gun is closed, pulling rearward with the finger on that same rest actually cocks the internal hammers in preparation for firing. If you decide not to take the shot, you may then let down the internal hammers by moving the finger rest back to it's normal uncocked position. This also serves as a safety. It should be noted that during all this motion in dropping the barrels, closing the gun, and cocking and uncocking the internal hammers there is not a single whisper of a sound made by the gun .... perfectly silent except for the rustle of your clothing as you go through the motions. What a great little hunting rifle! Overall condition absolutely mint original condition throughout.
