Description:
This is a handsome dagger that measures 12? overall with a 7 3/8? straight, double-edged blade having deeply flared and notched choils at the ricasso. The iron has developed a dark brown patina over time and has a fairly rough surface with light-moderate pitting throughout which has obscured any markings or shallow designs that may have been present on the blade. The curved wooden hilt has a carved grotesque face motif on the pommel while the kris-like wooden scabbard has a narrow carved bone collar just below the widely flared throat and a sectionalized bone tip section as well. This is a handsome piece of ethnographic weaponry and would make an attractive piece for display.
