Description:

This rifle was sold by Army & Navy to Captain C. C. Oldfield in 1900 for £07.07 in cal 303 Brit and has seen a lot of hard use since, probably in Africa. Extensive recent restoration, including rebore to 348 Win, wood refinishing/recheckering, forend rebed, mechanical overhaul, engraving recut, screw replacement. 24" bbl, 14 1/4" lop through original metal buttplate w. trap. 6 3/4lb of history now uniquely chambered for a very interesting cartridge. Note, safety lever is for appearance only, does not function due to switch of cocking lever at some time, could be restored to function w. correct type of cocking lever. Also, fired ctg has an extra shoulder on neck where 303 chamber did not fully clean up, but this does not affect function at all.
