Description: This Barung has a high quality acid etched blade with hosizontal lines showing the layers in the steel. The hardened cutting edge is a slightly different color and can be clearly seen from both sides. Left side is stamped "I" near hilt. The punto (ferrule) is aluminum and hilt and scabbard are made of Banati wood. Tagub (scabbard) shows typical OKIR designs at throat and tip with braided twine binding. Blade apears older than other parts and is probably reused. Blade remains in excellent condition with great colors, a few small nicks in edge, and a few small scattered areas showing light pitting. Hilt shows wear with a tiny chip in final. Scabbard is repaired at tip and throat, one binding is slightly loose. This is a fine example with a fantastic laminated blade, a great find for the advanced collector. SOLD Manufacturer: Phillipine Model: Barung |
