There were approximatel 291,000 of these made from 1892 until 1907. This one, SN 218193 was made in 1903. The desireable  3" barrel is marked "COLT D.A. 38" on the left side and "COLTS PT F.A. MFG CO/ HARTFORD CT. U.S.A. / PAT. AUG 5.84. NOV 6 88. MAR. 5. 95. on the top of the barrel. Hard rubber grips are in fine condition with no cracks or chips. The gun itself retains generous amounts of original bright blue finish.
