Colt factory letter states that this 4 3/4" 38-40 , serial #141602, was shipped to Austin Tx in 1891.  Austin was still quite the wild west cowtown at that time so the fact that it was shipped to Texas and remains in such clean condtion is astounding. Gun is all original and matching numbers with original grips and all the screws appear untouched.  Barrel has most of its blue but turning plum. Cylinder and grip straps have turned a soft clean gray.  Frame has a hint of color left in hidden area. Tight with all four perfect notches.  Bore is excellent.  Even the frame take down screw is not buggered.  Great early Colt that has been there.  No paper work needed to ship.
