Description:
Serial #4321s, 9mm Para., 4" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is an undated pistol, milled for the short-lived magazine safety and equipped with the correct Polizei sear safety. The pistol has nearly all matching numbers but with mismatched numbers on the sideplate and take-down lever as well as an unusual Waffenamt marked firing pin. The metal retains 95-97% of the original blue finish with traces of mild silvering along the exposed edges and projections and much of the original straw color remaining on the trigger, magazine release, and ejector (the take-down lever and safety are mostly bright gray). The pistol is "(crown)/N" proofed on the left side of the receiver with a Schutzpolizei (Protection Police) unit marking on the toe of the frontstrap: "S.D.IV.996." (Dusseldorf, Ruhr Region). The original checkered walnut grips have the small rectangular section missing from the top of the left panel (to accommodate the magazine safety mechanism) and are in very good plus condition otherwise with some minor wear and some flattening of the points. A single "fxo" coded magazine is included that has an excellent and intact black Bakelite base. This is a very good plus-near fine example of a DWM Police Rework with an unusual Schutzpolizei marking. {Ref.
