Remington New Model No. 4 Rolling Block "Rifle - 2nd Model - Cal. 32 - "SMOOTHBORE" marked on barrel - 22" Octagon Bbl. - SN J 284XXX(1906-1910 approx.) Absolutely perfect bore and action and tight take-down assy. Metal is excellent overall showing only a few very light spots on barrel which retains 98% blue - receiver has lots of case color darkened - steel buttplate has about40% blue and shows some pitting. Wood is excellent and undamaged with about 98% finish and showing only a few minor scuff marks.An exceptionally nice, all original early Remington No. 4 in the rare smoothbore configuration.
