We offer free Shipping for orders over $500. Description: S# 35826, .38-56 W.C.F. 26 inch octagon barrel, very good bore with strong rifling and scattered light pitting. This 1889 MFG rifle features a case hardened frame, lever, hammer and butplate, early style large butstock, second type hammer, semibuckhorn rear sight with early style elevator and nickel blade sporting front sight. Rifle is in very good condition with strong traces of case color on frame, bottom tang, hammer and lever. The first style butplate is now grey. The standard weight octagon barrel and full length mag tube retain 60% blue fading to brown with silvering on tube and scattered oxidation stains. Wood is sound with added finish. Comb was altered long ago, left side of wrist wears a large gouge. Forend shows two small gouges on left also, with both stocks showing scratches and marks from use and a little added finish. Loading gate shows light pitting and cartridge guide screw is a replacement. A very nice 86 standard rifle showing honest use with good care, this antique rifle could be used for hunting today.
