Description:
An unusual bolt rifle with sliding dust cover that is chambered for a very rare 8mm Siamese rimmed cartridge. See "Cartridges of the World 10th. edition", page 341, top. The receiver ring is marked with the circular Siamese" Charkra" over characters for the model year which translates into "RS 121" or Ratanakes 121 the year of adoption of the dynasty, or the Christian year 1903. All markings on the rifle are in Siamese. Bright, excellent bore. This example is in much better condition than we normally see with over 90% original blue and the wood showing some minor dings, bruises and a considerable amount of original varnish. Reference page 356 in "Mauser Military Rifles of the World". This rifle also has a bright excellent bore. FFL or C&R
