Virtually identical to bayonet “B4” illustrated on page 8 of Robert Reilly’s excellent book “AMERICAN SOCKET BAYONETS AND SCABBARDS”. Fusils were in use by Continental Troops from the early part of the War by Light Infantry and Artillery as well as some NCO’s. Original and in very good condition given its period of use.
