GEORGE III HIGHLAND REGIMENTAL BASKET HILT BACKSWORD. 40” o/a with 34” blade. George III inspectors proofs on the back of the blade as well as a partial maker’s stamp “H-----“ probably for “HARVEY”, a noted sword maker of Birmingham. Fine overall with the original sharkskin grip wrap and wire. Fine patina on metal and of quite substantial proportions with a wide 1 ¼” blade with broad point.
