This etched panel 44 was shipped on March 30, 1883 to John P Moore & Sons in NYC. It is listed as blue 44 with no mention of barrel length or grips but the 7 1/2" revolver was the standard of the day and walnut grips were standard thru 1883 , if not spcecially ordered, were always one piece walnuts just like the 'Cavalry models. Grips retain lots of the original varnish. The condition of this etched panel is fantastic given how many of these exist today. Gun is mostly plum , smooth as silk finish with no pits or roughness anywhere and with strong hues of blue on the barrel as well as the grip strap and protected areas Excellent Colt Walnut one piece grips retan at least 75-80 of the original varnishs. Everything is complete and matching inc the cylinder The SAA Etched panel is phenominal. Early black powder frame. Even has lots of the original blue on screw. Exceptional early cowboy gun.
