S/N 19984 Sharps Model 1878 Military rifle chambered in the popular 45-70 cartridge. The 32" barrel retains most of the original blue starting to turn plumb. The reciever is mostly a nice brown color. The stocks are in good condition with a minor chip missing behind the receiver next to the tang. There is an almost hidden  repair to the forend just in front of the receiver.  The bore is excellent with very nice rifling. These guns generally saw some hard use and were very popular on the plains for their accuracy, durablity and strong action.  This is one of the better examples we have ever seen.
