Description:
S#487, .25 RFD, 24 inch barrel, near very ngood bore with strong rifling and light erosion. This rifle was manufactured from 1913 to 1932 and probably was built quite early in the run as serial numbers range to 61,412 on known guns, thsi gun has the finest wood we have observed on a marlin pump with fancy crotch grain and feathering on both sides. Wood is refinished with light sanding evident. Butstock is numbered to frame, butplate wears a different number (512). Metal surfaces have developed a mottled grey patina with bright steel under pump handle on mag tube. Rifle wears nice original marlin sights and functions properly. The exterior slideing mag tube shows an old brazed repair at receiver end, it still slides and works properly. One filler screw is missing from top of receiver. This is an attractive gun with a great stock. FFL or C&R
