Description:
This bayonet is marked "Deutsche Maschinenfabrik A-G Duisburg" on ricasso, 145 on crossguard , and "1916 date, inspectors mark and royal cipher on spine. The blade retains 75% blue with scabbard wear, pommel is similar.Crossguard shows oxidation stains, grips are very good with chips, light wear, and dings from use. Scabbard shows 50% blue with light oxidation stains towards tip. The unit markings were obliterated near the throat. A very good example of this classic German WW1 bayonet.
