Merkel 280 SL 28ga, number 35 of 100, hand picked out of 23 for the best engraving and wood selection, Master engraved Merkel, made in Germany, engraved by Bernd Ludwig, engraving depicts a English setter pointing a flush of woodcock with forest floor background and scroll accents on left side of sidelock and receiver, right side depicts a covey rise of Hungarian partridge with northern woods scene with pine trees on skyline accented by scroll in semi relief with French gray receiver and forend metal, 28" barrels, 5 5/8 lbs., 14 1/2 LOP, 44 3/8 overall length, 2 3/8 drop in heel, right hand cast off, original Merkel case and papers, Improved cyl and mod, straight English grip and splinter forearm with beautifully figured wood, excellent condition with some light handling marks in wood, metal 100%.
