A Wikipedia search reveals some very interesting information detailing his long and distinguished service from the Mexican and Civil Wars through several commands on the American Frontier. Back to the gun!! It is in Excellent condition throughout. Barrels appear to have been reblacked many years ago. As pictures display, case colors are very strong and vivid . Treble grip action is tight and completely "On Face". Gun is in amazing condition for this vintage. The low mounted hammers allow the top lever to clear the right hammer when opening on full cock.
