Description:
Here's a very nice Pre-64 Winchester Model 70 Featherweight rifle. Chambered for the classic .30-06 cartridge, this rifle features a light contour 22" barrel with aluminum trigger guard, aluminum magazine floorplate, and checkered aluminum buttplate. Weight is 6-pounds, 9.5-ounces. All original and in excellent condition, it retains 98% of the original finish on the metal. There is no rust or any pitting. I'd grade the stock at 95% due to a couple of marks to the checkering on the right side of the forearm and a small patch of varnish loss to the left side of the stock (see pics). There are no cracks, chips or repairs. The mechanics are in perfect working order and the bore is mirror bright with sharp rifling. According to the serial number, this rifle was manufactured in 1958. It would appear that this Winchester has seen almost no use over the last 55 years...a very nice rifle!!
