the action is crisp on this early field grade model 12 Winchester. the finish retains 90% original blue on receiver and barrel. shows normal carry wear on the slide mag tube. wood show no cracks with 98% original varnish.Is semi pistol grip length to pull is 13 7/8 and . " . bore is bright and shiny no pits. has winchester butt plate. is 2 3/4 chamber 16 ga and is modified choke. which is great for bird hunting which give a narrow shot pattern also works well for rabbit hunting. I remember in the old days my buddys used poly chokes and set them to improved cylinder which is rabbit hunting spread the fine shot over a wider area . I f you got a direct hit on a rabbit it was a mess with shot all through the meat not cool especially if you planned on making rabbit stew. serial # denotes 489,xxx circa 1927 is pre war
