Description:
This musket is dated 1890. The left side of the reciever is marked by a stamp WCCO just forward of the breech block take down pin. The bore is bright and clean. There are some dings and dents on the stock. On the right side near the butt plate is a small circular mark maybe for a I.D. disk? The action works correctly with no problems. The blueing is about 75% or so. The stock varnish is in good condition. The government markings and inspection stamps are clean and easy to read. The rod bayonet is original and in good condition. The sights are original and undamaged. There are no alterations or add on other than the Western Costume property stamp on the breech block. This musket still has the original sight hood intact as well as the tools in the butt plate storage compartment. The tools consist of the model 1879 combination tool, the wiper tip and the 1882 headless shell extractor. The Western Costume Company supplied props and guns for the movie industry for their westerns and military productions. I of course cannot produce documentation as to what movies this gun may have been in. However this musket is in really nice condition considering the potential for real abuse in the movies as well as alterations to look like another type of gun. This musket should appeal to the military collector as well as the moving picture memorabilia collector.  Search for Harry Viezens on google. Antique BEEE
