Description:
German P.08 Weimar Police Luger Pistol, by DWM, serial # 50x0 s, cal. 9 mm, 4" barrel with a bright about excellent bore which only shows the very lightest frosting within the grooves. The metal surfaces retain about 90% original blue, the loss due primarily to some honest light fading, high edge and contact point wear with the grip straps faded mostly to a gray brown. The ejector, safety, magazine release, trigger and takedown lever all show strong pale straw-pewter, perhaps fading slightly on the body of the safety lever. The few numbered parts are all matching, the chamber is clean with no markings at all, there is a crown “N” proof on the left side of the barrel extension and no imperial proofs. The checkered walnut grips rate about very good each showing some minor flattening of the points and with ingrained oil and grime from the years; the left grip is numbered in pencil to the guns police inventory number, the right grip was numbered "436" in pencil, it was subsequently scratched out, in pencil. The gun is equipped with the police sear safety and the remnants of a magazine safety can be seen beneath the left grip. A single bright-bodied magazine is included with a wood base which is numbered "2328" with the number "1" on its leading-edge. The front strap is police unit marked "S.Mi.254" (Schutzpolizei, Minden, gun 254). The overall condition as described is very good plus plus.  Inv.: # 1-1171
