SOLD Pending Funds / French Model 1822/42 Percussion Converted Pistol, caliber .70 with a 8" barrel and a fair to good but lightly pitted bore, pistol has an 1822 dated barrel tang with a Tulle Armory marked lockplate and exhibits an overall dark plum-brown patina, has several legible proofs and stamps around the breech, the lockplate and hammer have a slightly grayer patina with some very small spots of freckling surrounding the hammer screw and around the edges of the lockplate, stock is extensively marked opposite the lock and has numerous minor handling marks and blemishes in the old added varnish finish and the once cleaned brass furniture have re-patinaed to a dark yellow-ochre color, the original steel ramrod is present, the mechanism is extremely robust and is fully functional, overall a very good example of a period converted French Military Pistol.
