PRESCOTT NAVY MODEL, .38 caliber Rim Fire...
Six shot, with a 7-1/2 inch octagon barrel with the IRON FRAME. Traditionally classed by collectors as "Secondary Martial" handguns. Made from 1861 to 1863, with only a few Hundred made.
The U.S.Government had 400 of them sent to the State of Kansas, in March, 1862, to be issued to the Kanas Militia. . These were also sold to Union military men during the Civil War. This one is the Iron Frame Model, in Fine mechanical Condition. The finish looks to be in the white, with just a few light scattered pits. The Walnut grips are in good condition retaining most of the varnish. Good Markings, and Matching Serial Numbers on Every Part. Thanks for taking a look.
