SPRINGFIELD KRAG U.S. MODEL 1898 CARBINE. .30-40 U.S. caliber serial numbered in the 128,xxx range manufactured in 1898. Original carbine with period Arsenal change to the Model 1899 Carbine stock without ring bar. Very good overall and complete along with it’s “C” marked Model 1898 Carbine rear sight. Excellent metal which is a dark patina with minor blue mixed evenly. Fine wood with nice patina. And original rack or regiment stamp on butt (14/14). Very faint remnant of a cartouche. Working order and extra nice , bright bore. Nice original Krag Model 1898 Carbine with excellent early post WW2 collection provenance. Only 5000 made.
