Description:
EXCEPTIONAL S. NORTH U.S.N. MODEL 1826 FLINTLOCK PISTOL DATED 1828. .54 caliber 8 ½” barrel stamped at the breech “U.S./A.H./P (STAR)”. Lock stamped “U.S./S. NORTH” and dated 1828. Exceptional untouched example in original flintlock condition with all the original parts including the screws which still have original blue. Perfect working order and 100% original.. Nice attic patina on metal but very crisp having seen modest use. Stock with the original finish and a visible cartouche over the belt hook. A U.S. Navy rack number is also stamped over the belt hook superimposing the cartouche but it is still quite visible. Never on the market and from the estate of long deceased U.S. Navy Admiral. We have never seen one better.
