SUPERIOR FEDERAL AMERICAN EAGLE HEAD SWORD AND SCABBARD CIRCA 1805-10. 37” overall with 31” blued and gilded blade bearing Martial motifs including a very nice “STARS AND STRIPES” Federal shield and three designs incorporating the “LIBERTY CAP” of Revolutionary War fame. Gilded brass hilt and scabbard. Checkered bone grip which is nicely aged and in original nice condition. Very fine Philadelphia style Eagle Pommel. The ferrule and guard also quite ornate. Fine condition with much original fire blue and gilding on the blade. Scabbard and hilt with 50-60% original gilding as well. Extra quality example of relatively large size.
