Description:
AMT Automag Pistol Collection The photo you are viewing is an assemblage of AMT handguns that came out of a local estate. The former owner was a personal friend of Harry Sanford, the original owner of Auto Mag Corporation in the early days of the company around 1971 through 1980. The firearms assembled here represent a core of models of the early OMC/AMT days through the TDE manufacturing period. Unfortunately, the former owner of these firearms passed away before we were able to speak with him to get the detailed history on each piece. However, his wife assures us that her husband worked with Harry Sanford on different models during that period. The Pasadena Auto Mag is in the .44 AMP caliber with a TDE spare upper barrel assembly in .357 AMP with the typical black plastic grip, a custom period wood target grip, and a period Safariland fitted holster. The Hardballer is an Arcadia Hardballer, not a Hardballer II. The .380 Back-Up is an OMC gun not an AMT, and has a spare magazine. The AutoMag II is in as new condition and has the original factory box with it. The last two guns are the most interesting to us....the Large Frame Back-Up in 45 ACP, and the .22 caliber Lightning. Neither of these guns bears any markings other than the serial number. The serial number on the Back-Up is stippled into the frame, while the Lightning serial number is struck into the frame. Both guns look as if they were pulled off the line and assembled without going through the usual manufacturing process. It is possible that the sandblast markings could have been polished off as both guns are polished to a chrome-like shine. All this said, we have decided to offer these handguns in a group of 6 or if preferred they can be purchased individually. The combined current market price of all 6 guns is $4600.00. Should you want to purchase the complete set of 6 we will reduce the price to $4200.00, a savings of approximately 10%. Please call with any questions you may have.
