Description:
This model 1866 bayonet was built in St. Etienne in May 1873 and is so marked on spine. Ricasso shows two inspection marks, guard shows a serial number. Blade and guard are mostly bright with scattered light oxidation stains. Brass handle is developing a dark patina. The non matching scabbard was rusty and was polished and chromed, now showing light pitting under 99% chrome finish.
