Description:

24,000 of these carbines were made with first shipments being delivers in April of 1865 at wars end. It featured a .50 inch bore, 20" barrel, factory sling swivels and a Stabler cut off. It has perfect DAP and EAW cartouches in the beautiful wood stock with no cracks or chips and never cleaned or sanded. Barrel retains almost 100% of the factory blue finish. The case colored receiver is basically patterened with some nice soft colors with brilliant colors on saddle ring attachment bar as well as the lever and the bottom tang, hammer and side plate. Bore is gem mint. All the screws have almost 100% of their original fire blue finish. At least half the brilliant colors remain on butt plate as well. This is a fairly early four digit serial number (5662) It does not look like it has ever seen any use. One of the finer examples extant.
