Payment Types Accepted: Credit Card, Cashiers Check Description: Standard in all respects with 22" barrel,45,733 mfg from June 3, 1863 with the first delivery of carbines to the Army in October of 1863. 11000 had been delivered by July 13, 1863, just a couple of weeks after Gettysburg. This Carbine is serial number 11716 so was part of the next thousand carbines delivered by June 4, 1864 so this gun falls right in the middle of the conflict. The wood is nice and no cracks evident except one chip near side plate but cartouche is no longer visible. Barrel retains all of the blue brown arsenal refinish as well as a blue brown receiver that has been arsenal rehauled at sometime as evidenced by weak model number and name on receiver. Bore has strong lands and grooves with some minor pitting. Basically, a nice patina Spencer that issued during the height of the Civil War. These carbines saw service in every single battle and theater from 1863 thru the end of the war on both sides. Issued to Texas, Arkansaw and Mississippi in the south to just about every state in the Union. An iconic Civil War veteran and tough to find in the active Civil War serial number range.
