Description: Self-acting ejectors (properly timed) and scalloped action on this rather nice hammerless damascus gun dating to 1892. Bbls are 2.5"x30" with mirror bores (as honed) measuring L .740/.698 (F) and R .738/.726 (IC), min walls .045 each side. Probably built as a waterfowler. Generous amount of scroll engraving on action retaining a moderate amount of color. Wood appears to be original and in very good cosmetic condition, strong checkering and no deep gouges but there is a short old stable repaired crack in the wrist. Sling swivels are fitted. LOP is 14" through horn plate, drops 1 3/4" and 2 3/8", with a small amount of cast-off (RH). Bbls have been freshly browned and waxed, showing off unusual fingerprint damascus. Trigger bow tang has an invisible repair; tang has been partially re-engraved and freshly charcoal blued. Gun was recently put back on face by the TIG method and now closes like a vault. 7lbs SOLD |
