Remington 1861 Navy Percussion Civil War revolver, Aka “Old Model Navy” 36 cal., 6-shot 7 3/8” Bbl. Ser #1959 on frame, under grips. Standard Markings, “Patented Sept14 1858/E Remington & sons Ilion New York”, has military inspector’s markings on various parts. The bore in rough condition; cylinder has some dents, chambers show evidence of some surface corrosion. Action works well and locks up very tight when cocked. Some normal dents and dings in metal for its age and some corrosion on cylinder. Walnut grips fit tightly, and look good. Overall a nice Good original antique Civil War era Rem. Army suitable for collector/shooter.
