Description:
Colt 1911 with documented use by famous Marine Corp Armorer Sgt. William James Barry Jr.. Sgt. Barry while serving in the Korean War earned two stars on his Korean Service Medal, Navy unit commendation, United Nations Service Medal,and a Korean Presidential Unit Citation.  Also, two sharpshooter medals. Included in this package is the back-up Beretta dated 1950 that he carried while serving in combat with the 1st Marines. Included is Sgt. Barr'ys Paris Island group Boot Camp photo dated Oct 10, 1951 and a training group photo "O" Company, 3d, B, 2d inf Trng Reg. TC2. Camp Pendleton, Calif, dated 15-Oct-1952. Other photos are included as pictured.
Mr. Barry went on to work the Miami News and Associated Press and won several awards. Mr Barry authored two books including Honor Clean which is still sold on Amazon and highly rated, fictional (for various reasons) of his combat experiences in Korea. A signed copy is included along with a 1st Marine Corp ashtray and copies of his DD 214, discharge, promotion paperwork, civilian awards plus other goodies.
We are selling this package for his widow who will put the money towards home repairs. Mrs. Barry wants to retain his dress blues at this time, but not his ribbon bar, because she has the actual medals.
