Description:
U.S. MARKED SPRINGFIELD ARMORY SPORTERIZED KRAG RIFLE, .30-40 Krag, sn 125xxx. Metal retains 90% of what must be an old reblue but all markings are clear and crisp. Tight-grained walnut sporter stock with pleasing contour and well-shaped right hand checkpiece exhibits some fine tiger striping and retains about 85% of its finish. Metal and wood are smooth and clean and well cared for. The buttplate has several rust spots and some shallow pitting with little finish remaining. Bore and mechanics are excellent and the rifle is fitted with a well made period peep sight.
