Winchester 1886 .40-82 caliber carbine. Extremely rare Winchester 1886 Saddle Ring carbine with Schutzen butt plate. Only one we have seen or heard of! Gun has a smooth gray patina on metal. Wood is very good as lightly refinished. Has two well-done repairs at the frame by the lower tang on each side. Bore is very good but does have some pitting. 40-82 made in 1895. Unbelievably rare with Swiss butt plate and gun letters with this feature. Another interesting fact was the gun was made in 1895, but not shipped for 11 years. Interesting gun and one that may be one and only chance of owning a 86 saddle ring carbine with Swiss butt.
