Kreighoff, (Luger) P. 08, Dated 1936, Ser. 72XX, Inv 5167
A real beauty with about, 98% of the original Krieghoff high polish blue. There is some very slight pinprick flaking lightly scattered on the left side of the fame and frame rails. Some silvering on the sharp edges, actually less than usual on the side plate. The right side of the frame is marked consecutively, Dropping Eagle/2, Drooping Eagle, and Drooping Eagle/2. The barrel is marked, Drooping Eagle/2 and Drooping Eagle, 72XX, and 983 for the chamber measurement. The toggle is sharply stamped with the Kreighoff trade mark, Anchor HK. The grips straps are super clean at about 98% blue. Showing almost no use and none of the usual graying. The strawed parts have some very slight surface loss but retain about 90% of their original color. All numbered parts match. The brown Bakelite grips are correct, original and in perfect condition. No chips, cracks or flattened points. The bore is super bright sharp and crisp with little or no perceptible greying. The magazine is a proper Kreighoff and marked Drooping Eagle and is serial numbered 8525/A. This is a magnificent example of a desk queen Krieghoff. It would be very difficult to upgrade indeed. $8950.
