Springfield 1903 .30-06 Sprg caliber rifle. 1904 production receiver rebuilt for WWII at the Raratan arsenal. Has a 1941 dated Springfield barrel. The bore shows some very minor spots of etching. Looks to be unissued since it was refurbished. Excellent condition. Very early receiver! This rifle has a serial number under one million, which is traditionally considered to be potentially unsafe to fire due to improper heat treating. Because of this and the possible danger involved, this rifle is sold as a collectors item only and is not to be fired.
