Description:
Serial #22932, .44-40, 5 1/2" barrel with a very good, bright bore that has some minor freckling within the grooves. This revolver has matching numbers on the frame, cylinder, and barrel with 85-90% of the original nickel finish remaining on the frame; 90-95% of a well done re-nickel remaining on the barrel and cylinder. Small spots of dark plum-brown freckling are sparsely scattered about the frame with the heaviest amount on and around the loading gate and there is some minor pinprick pitting on the barrel breech underneath the nickel. The hammer has visible color case-hardening remaining with mottled freckling on the balance and traces of original blue remain on the trigger guard which is plum-brown on the balance. The checkered hard rubber grips, numbered to the gun on the interior, are in very good shape having some minor flattening of the points along with stable fixed cracks at the butt on both panels. The mechanism is functional abd locks up in single action correctly. Appears to have some problems indexing on DA. The revolver rates very good plus condition overall. Antique
