Description:
#4933 Winchester Model 1886 OBFMCB 40/65WCF, 81XXX(1893), VG bore (about a “7” on a scale of 10) and crisp tight action. Fine smooth unpitted metal with THIN (but liberal) traces of both original plum blue on the barrel and tube as well as faint cloudy grey case colors on the frame. Fine wood with just one small sliver-chip at the upper left tang and a oil dark drip-stain on the right side of the stock. Standard sights and trigger. The caliber is a very comfortable round with low recoil and still decent ballistics, being basically a smaller version of the 40/82WCF. And while this particular Winnie is no great deluxe high-grade advanced collectors item, these standard grade and common calibered ‘86s are becoming VERY difficult to find in conditions that are unaltered and original. Most seem to have been heavily “juiced up”, rebarreled, rebored, or rewooded …and still are well over $2K in price. VG++ as described. $2495
