VG mechanics and overall condition with less than the expected minor bumps and bruises on both metal and wood. These mid-sized (and larger) single shot pistols were inexpensive and reliable protection and were favorites of the gold seekers in the California Gold Rush of 1849-55. They could be tucked in the high boots while bending down and panning for gold and thus far more accessable than pocket guns (holsters having not yet becoming popular). These are true veterans of the Early West and still unappreciated for their role in the history of Western Expansion and the Gold Rush. Many were still carried into the Civil War as “last ditch” secondary defense weapons, as well. VG/VG+ as described. $425 SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes Antique: Yes |
