Description:
COLT NEW SERVICE REVOLVER SN 312XXX in .38 WCF. This great old revolver features a 7 1/2" barrel with a near excellent bore exhibiting barely a hint of frosting. The front and rear gripstraps have faded to an even, smooth pewter blending very well with remainder of the revolver which retains fully 94% of the original factory blue with light silvering at the muzzle and some high edges. Light handling marks are evident but the finish remains strong and smooth. Barrel markings are very crisp with a last patent date of July 4, 1905. The rampant Colt logo is likewise crisp and sharp. The high Colt grips are in excellent condition and are not scratch numbered. This is a transition model retaining the first issue cylinder latch with the more shapely tapered barrel. Timing, lockup, double and single actions are as tight and smooth in operation as when it left the factory.
