Production of the .38 Super pistols resumed in June of 1947 and were made with left over pre war parts along with newly manufactured parts and the new anti glare finish as advertised on the new box lids with the sandblasted style finish on top of slide and bottom of receiver with the old pre war style high polish blue on slide and frame flats.  This is one of those first year post war guns with pre war style hammer, magazine release with post war trigger and slide lock.  Standard with the brown checkered no logo Coltwood grips of WW11.  Original "No Horse" logo magazine with flat finish as well. This gun has a hint of high edge front slide wear and a hint of idiot line so would rate it a solid 98% gun with mint bore and action.
