Description:

The pink picture box for the Colt New Model Army is so rare that the one used in Robert Best's book entitled "A Study of Colt's New Army and Navy Pattern Double Action Revolvers 1889-1908" is so beat as to be barely legible. This box, on a scale of 1-10 would be an easy 7-8 with nice top label with small stain.  Perfect end label that reads .38 6" blue rubber Colts New Army DA Revolver.  The gun is at least 99% with all the fire blue screws and on back of hammer and trigger.  Mint grips. Mint acton and bore. Almost invisible cylinder line. Mint back strap, front strap and trigger guard blue.  Last pat date on top of barrel is Mar 5, 95.  Serial number places gun in 1898 and according to Best,  they used this picture box thru 1899. There were two style of boxes, one marked Navy and one marked Army.  The book pictures the Navy and does not picture the Army box.  The box was not numbered to this gun but the era of gun, condition of gun and era of box are all correct.
