Description:
A beautiful flintlock belt pistol made by LAUGHER'S of Birmingham, England. There is a safety, a belt hook, an almost unmarred well checkered walnut grip, and a 4 1/4" rifled octagon barrel retaining about 60% + of its blued finish. The overall length is 8 1/4". The lock is engraved and clearly marked with the makers name. The safety, barrel and trigger area are also engraved. The trigger pops out when the hammer is cocked. Metal and wood are in overall excellent condition. The action is strong . The hammer tends to stick. When cocked back a little further it will fire. There are three very visible proof marks on the underside of the barrel. A nice piece to add to your collection. Believed to have been made between 1800 - 1820. C & J Laugher were in business from 1800 to 1820. Antique, no FFL required.
