Smith and Wesson pre model 23, Outdoorsman, revolver. Chambers .38 Special caliber cartridges from a swing-out, fluted, 6-shot cylinder. The pinned barrel length is 6-1/2 inches, magna-ported, and an excellent bore. Fixed red front sight and an adjustable, square notch rear sight. Spurred hammer and a grooved trigger. Checkered walnut grip plates. Minor wear with some scratches. No cracks or splits on the grip plates. 5 screws and dated around 1950. No box. SN: S78###
