French flintlock Holster Pistol.  Circa 1740-1750. Marked  “BRVLATOUR, ASTE FOY” on lock. 9 inch barrel 15 1/4 inches overall. Flash pan, left sideplate, trigger guard, butt plate, and flash pan are all iron. Very early flintlock, lock is early, unbridled style, large grips stock and a large iron buttcap, very early style of hammer, pan, iron stirrups on grips, large trigger guard, mark this as an early gun, circa 1740-1750. Wood has some carving in the form of paddles behind tang and on sides behind the lock. 

Condition: metal is clean with almost no rust.  Wood has few dings and dents and a splinter missing at left of muzzle and a chip behind triggerguard. Works fine and locks up at both half cock and full cock. Over all a very nice early piece in very good condition.
