This barrel is dated 8-42. The rifle lands are sharp and clean. Chamber is clean and bright. This is a nice shootable barrel. The outer barrel finish shows service use. The barrel shows no refinish work. On the left side is faintly marked Blue Sky Arlington Va. Blue Sky stamp did not damage this barrel. This barrel would be great to put on a shooter grade M1 Carbine that has a shot out barrel. Barrels that are not import stamped with this early date usually run $500.00 or more. Being import stamped does affect the barrel's value. However, anybody needing a nice shootable barrel for their carbine would not go wrong with this barrel. F. 99
